Ram 1500 EV

Stellantis, which owns Ram along with other marques like Fiat, Dodge, and Chrysler announced that the popular Ram 1500 pickup truck will get an electric treatment in 2024. Ram of the future

Although the teaser image doesn’t give out much about the 2024 Ram EV in terms of specs, it reveals that the EV will forgo the standard Ram 1500’s quintessential blocky pickup truck design for a more angular slope on the C-pillars. However, what will make the Ram EV stand out from regular Ram 1500 is a brand-new, full-width LED headlight bar atop the bold Ram insignia which renders it a more futuristic look, indicative of its electric nature. Stellantis even claims that the electric Ram truck will “surpass its competition.”

The electric avatar of the Ram pickup truck will have sharkfin-inspired C-pillars which integrate into the rear door. The rugged stance of the Ram truck will be kept intact in the form of super large grilles and an aggressive-looking skidplate upfront.

500-mile drive range

Talking about what’s under the hood, Stellantis did leave us some clues as to what we can expect in terms of its platform and drive range performance. The Ram 1500 EV will ride on the new STLA frame platform and is expected to offer as much as 500 miles of total driving range from a single charge, which is better than the current best-selling electric pickup truck, the Ford F-150 Lightning.

Though the power and torque figures of the 2024 Ram EV truck are unknown at the moment, we can speculate that it will produce more power and provide a better towing capacity than its rivals. Thanks to the shared platforms, you can also expect the price of the upcoming Ram EV to be kept under check.
